At the start of her professional career, Deneen “GypsC” Ann Glass served as an office manager in a pediatric dental office in Houston, Texas in 1990. While working as a CDA at Creighton University, Ms. Glass commenced her collegiate studies at the age of 30, graduating from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Program in 2001. During this time, she had also volunteered at what was originally called the Indian Chicano Clinic from 1997 to 2007.

Finding great success in her professional path, Ms. Glass was the recipient of an Outstanding Community Service Award and presented her rant research on interluekin-1 non pathological bone remodeling in Nashville, Tennessee at the National Dental Hygiene Conference. Her research captured the attention of the Journal of Dental Hygiene, and the abstract was published in the 2001 Winter issue. In 2006, the City of Omaha’s Mayors Office selected her as the citizens representative to attend the first National Emergency Response Conference in Washington D.C. Likewise, Ms. Glass served as leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout Group of Daisies to Juniors, during which she received the New Leader of the Year Award from the Entire Great Plains Girl Scout Counsel.

After overcoming her battle with thyroid cancer, Ms. Glass returned to dentistry and offered her expertise as a contract dental hygienist at Fort Riley in Kansas. Caring for U.S. Army service men and women for four years, she was the recipient of four Commander Coins of Excellence and achieved being #3 dental hygienist works wide in the United States Army. Today, Ms. Glass is retired under a disability of degenerative bone disease but continues to do her part in improving others’ lives in any way possible. With this sentiment, she attributes her success to the fact that she loves to put smiles on people’s faces. In the coming years, Ms. Glass hopes to find success through her Wooden You shop, as well as discover more therapeutic art escapes in addition to tarot card readings and fractal wood burning.
